I have many years of experience in several walks of life/careers and have truly found my passion in innkeeping! Some of the roads that lead me to where I am today include:
- Education - elementary through secondary special education - public and parochial systems
- Veterinarian Assistant in an Animal Hospital
- Corporate Manager and Trainer for JCPenney
- Restaurant manager
- Opened and managed a Le Creuset store in Dallas, Texas market
- Two years as innkeeper/manager of Captain Henderson House, Arkadelphia, Arkansas
- Three years as innkeeper/manager of St Croix River Inn, Osceola, Wisconsin
- Eight years as an interim innkeeper
- Owner of Bee Berry Grapeful - Honey, Herbs, Homegrown, and Homemade
My involvement with the bed and breakfast industry started in 2001,
as a innkeeper/manager of Captain Henderson House, a seven bedroom bed and breakfast in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. After doing 24/7 for two years, I realized I wanted to make more time for my family, including my ten grandkids, and made the decision to switch to interim innkeeping.
Sitting INN Style was launched in 2003 and still going strong! It allows me to continue to do what I love and have a strong passion for, yet have the flexibility to take time off when needed or desired for my family.
I have had an association with PAII since 2001, have been a participating member of the Interim Innkeepers Network and the Oregon Bed & Breakfast Guild.
It's not necessary for me to tell you that being an innkeeper/manager doesn't allow precious time for rest and relaxation with partners, family and friends. As an interim innkeeper, I'm able to do what I love while offering you . . . .
Time to get away . . .time for family, friends, and FUN!
Whether you plan a well deserved trip, graduation or wedding, or a family emergency, I offer the solution. Time for travel and my availability are the only considerations I have to being "on my way" at a moments notice.
